About Ink Learning
Ink Learning publishes three free A-level libraries at this address: physics, maths and biology. They are written to one standard and built from one set of tools, and none of them asks for payment or an account before you can read it.
The three libraries
- InkPhysics: AQA, OCR A, Edexcel and Cambridge International. All 88 core topics, the twelve required practicals, and the option units.
- InkMaths: 171 A-level Maths and Further Maths lessons across 29 units, with 2,593 original questions and 271 flashcards. The library covers Pearson Edexcel 9MA0 and all 9FM0 option papers. Specification maps are also available for AQA 7357/7367, OCR A H240/H245 and OCR B (MEI) H640; each map identifies any gaps.
- InkBiology Beta: 90 A-level Biology lessons across 21 units, with 1545 original questions and 980 flashcards. Coverage maps are available for five qualifications from AQA, OCR, Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel.
Each library has its own front door, its own search, its own revision tools and its own About page, because a physics student and a biology student are not looking for the same thing and should not have to share a menu. What they share is the method below, the shell around the pages and the company behind them. A department reading across all three has its own page: what can be used with a class, which specifications have been read against each library, and which resources can be printed.
The method
Each topic is a written explanation with purpose-made diagrams, worked examples and practice. Revision tools run in the browser; signing in is optional and is used only to sync progress.
Three kinds of check stand behind the material, and they catch different things. Automated checks run on every build: they verify internal links, question numbering and equation tags against the boards' own booklets, and the figures are generated from code that asserts the relationships it draws. Those checks enforce consistency but cannot judge whether the idea behind a page is the right one. That is what subject review is for: material is written and revised against the official specification documents. Because neither is infallible, reader corrections are the third check.
What differs between them
All three libraries offer the same optional account: sign in once, with Google, and your progress in each library can follow you between devices. Physics and maths also have an Android app each; biology runs in the browser only. All four physics boards are mapped and published; biology publishes coverage maps for five of the eleven qualifications it lists, from four awarding organisations, and names the other six as not covered. Maths publishes specification maps for seven English qualifications: Pearson Edexcel 9MA0 and 9FM0, AQA 7357 and 7367, OCR Mathematics A H240, OCR Further Mathematics A H245 and OCR Mathematics B (MEI) H640. OCR Further Mathematics B (MEI) H645, WJEC and CCEA routes are listed but not yet mapped. Your data is handled the same way in every library, and the privacy notice covers all three libraries, naming the differences that remain.
Who runs it
The libraries and the apps are published by Ink Learning Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17382113. Its registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, and the address for anything about any of the three is support@inklearning.co.uk. There is a YouTube channel alongside the libraries at Ink Learning.
Independence
Ink Learning is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge International or any other awarding body. Every question in every library is original; none is taken from a past paper. Board names appear only to describe where material sits in each specification.
What these libraries are for
They support taught lessons and revision; they do not replace a teacher or a classroom. The practical pages describe method and analysis for revision purposes, and no online guide replaces supervised practical work: always follow your school's risk assessments and your teacher's instructions in the lab.
