Frequently asked questions
Is InkPhysics free?
Completely. No account needed, no sign-ups, no adverts. Read the notes, download the workbooks and use them for your own study as much as you like. The material itself stays © Ink Learning Ltd, so please link to the site rather than re-publishing copies elsewhere. The diagrams are the exception: those are published for you to use and adapt, and using our diagrams says on what terms.
Which exam board do the notes follow?
The library is organised by the physics rather than by a board. Every lesson opens with chips showing where it sits in the AQA, Cambridge International, OCR A and Edexcel specifications, and the AQA, Cambridge International, OCR A and Edexcel views map those specifications onto the library.
Can teachers use these notes in class?
Yes. Print them and project them freely for your own classes, and point students at the site. What is not allowed is re-publishing the material, distributing edited copies or selling it: all rights are reserved by Ink Learning Ltd. The diagrams are different and are meant to be taken: crop one into a worksheet, put it on the virtual learning environment, adapt it. Using our diagrams sets out the terms, and they cover a fee-charging school and a paid tutorial as well as a state classroom. The teachers’ page covers the rest: the specification maps for all three libraries, and what prints.
Why do some figures move?
Where motion is the idea, the figure loops it: a wave travelling, a capacitor draining, a chain reaction being tamed. If your device asks for reduced motion, or you print a page, every moving figure shows a clean still frame instead.
Is there a maths version?
Yes: InkMaths covers Edexcel A-level maths in the same style, with the complete A-level Maths course written, Further Maths with all eight option papers alongside it, and the same flashcards and revision tools.
Are there videos?
InkPhysics is also a YouTube channel. The notes stand alone, and the channel carries worked walkthroughs in the same style.
Where are the flashcards?
The flashcards page carries the key definitions, the equations that are not on the AQA data sheet, and one spot-the-error card per lesson, with spaced-repetition scheduling saved in your browser (and synced between devices only if you sign in), plus free Anki decks and printable packs for every unit.
I think I have found a mistake.
Please say so: the corrections page says how, and every page here carries a link to report a mistake on that page. Corrections ship quickly, and the whole site rebuilds as one piece, so a fix lands everywhere at once.
Do the notes cover the required practicals? (AQA)
For AQA, yes: the practicals hub carries a full guide to each of the 12 required practical activities AQA sets for 7408, with method, analysis, error sources and improvements. The four boards mapped here structure practical work differently; check your own specification for its own list.
| Exam board | Practical structure |
|---|---|
| AQA (7408) | 12 required activities |
| Edexcel (9PH0) | 16 core practicals |
| OCR A (H556) | Practical Endorsement covering PAG1–PAG12 |
| Cambridge International (9702) | Practical skills assessed in Papers 3 and 5 |
The 12 guides follow AQA’s list. The techniques are useful for every board, but they are not a complete practical map for Edexcel, OCR A or Cambridge International.
