Answers about cost, accounts, exam-board coverage, questions, offline use and editorial review.

Is it free?

Yes. All lessons and tools are free, with no adverts or paid tier. An account is optional and is used only to sync progress.

Which exam board does it cover?

Detailed coverage maps are available for AQA 7401/7402, OCR Biology A H020/H420, Cambridge International 9700, Pearson Edexcel Biology A (Salters-Nuffield) 8BN0/9BN0 and Pearson Edexcel Biology B 8BI0/9BI0. Each map links specification headings to lessons and records any gaps. The other six listed routes are not yet mapped; use your awarding organisation’s current specification to confirm examinable content.

Every lesson names the specification statements it is written against, and the exam boards page lists all eleven routes with what is recorded about each.

Are the questions past papers?

No. All 1,545 questions and mark schemes are original InkBiology material. They are not copied from awarding-body papers or schemes, which are the awarding bodies’ copyright.

Do I need an account for my progress to be saved?

No. Your checklist ratings, your card schedule and your question history are saved in this browser, on this device, whether or not you ever sign in. They survive closing the tab and do not survive clearing your browser data.

What the optional account adds is syncing: sign in with Google on two devices and the same progress is on both, merged rather than overwritten. It is one account for all three Ink libraries, so a sign-in here counts on InkPhysics and InkMaths too. Without one, the checklist and the flashcards still have a copy-and-paste route for moving progress by hand.

Can I use it offline?

Yes. Add the library to your home screen and it installs as an app: the shell and the tools are stored on the device, and any lesson you have opened stays readable without a connection. The cards and the questions work offline once the app has them.

How many cards and questions are there?

980 flashcards and 1,545 questions across 90 lessons, plus 764 defined terms and every lesson’s own objectives on the checklist.

Who writes it, and how do I know it is right?

It is written by Ink Learning Ltd. The build checks page structure, links, accessibility labels, the marks on each question and the mark-scheme totals. The library also received a lesson-by-lesson editorial review in August 2026. It has not yet been reviewed by a practising biology teacher.

What about physics and maths?

InkPhysics and InkMaths are published by Ink Learning Ltd and use the same optional account and privacy notice. Signing in on any of the three signs you in on all three, and each subject’s progress syncs to its own library.
