Frequently asked questions
Is InkMaths free?
Completely. No account needed, no sign-ups and no adverts; what the site records is set out on the privacy page. Read the notes, download the workbooks and the card packs, and use them for your own study as much as you like. The material itself stays © Ink Learning Ltd, so please link to the site rather than re-publishing copies elsewhere. The diagrams are the exception: those are published for you to use and adapt, in a classroom, on a virtual learning environment or in a handout, and using our diagrams says on what terms.
Which exam board do the notes follow?
The lesson sequence is written around Pearson Edexcel 9MA0 and 9FM0, and every lesson carries its reference; the Edexcel view maps the specification onto the library topic by topic. Specification maps are also published for AQA 7357/7367, OCR A H240/H245 and OCR B (MEI) H640. Each map records any gaps, and each was read against this library statement by statement on 19 and 21 August 2026. No map is published yet for OCR Further Mathematics B (MEI) H645, WJEC and CCEA. The exam boards page lists them all.
Does it cover Further Maths?
It covers all Pearson Edexcel 9FM0 Core Pure content and all eight option papers: Further Pure 1 and 2, Further Statistics 1 and 2, Further Mechanics 1 and 2, and Decision Mathematics 1 and 2. The library lists them under Further Maths. AQA and OCR Further Maths options differ from Pearson’s, so use the map for your qualification and check every recorded gap: AQA 7367 and OCR H245 have been read against this library one statement at a time, option paper by option paper. For a Further Maths route that no map covers yet, treat this as a library written to Pearson’s specification.
How do I know which results I have to memorise?
Formula badges are checked against the Pearson Edexcel booklet. The formulae to memorise page lists results not printed there and states their conditions; the equation index says which unit each one is in. AQA and OCR candidates should use their own formula booklet.
Can teachers use these notes in class?
Yes. Print them, project them and point students at the site freely. What is not allowed is re-publishing the material, distributing edited copies or selling it: all rights are reserved by Ink Learning Ltd.
Are the workbook questions from past papers?
No. All questions, worked solutions and marking guidance across the 171 workbooks are original InkMaths material. Automated checks verify stored calculations and mark totals, but they do not replace subject review. Please report any error.
Where are the flashcards?
The flashcards page schedules standard results, definitions, recall prompts, check questions and common misconceptions by spaced repetition in your browser. Your progress stays on your device unless you sign in to the optional account and turn on sync, exactly as the privacy page describes. The same cards are there as free Anki decks and as printable packs in a navy and an ink-saving edition.
How are the figures drawn?
Figures are generated for the lessons. Automated checks verify selected coordinates, values and relationships; subject review is still required to judge whether a model and explanation are appropriate.
Are there videos?
A few. A lesson that has a video links to it below its objectives; the first is on the structure of proof, and more follow as they are made. They live on the same YouTube channel as the physics walkthroughs. Animated lesson diagrams can be paused by enabling reduced motion in the device or browser settings.
I think I have found a mistake.
Please say so. Every page carries a Spotted a mistake on this page? button at the foot, and each question and flashcard has its own, which is the quickest route because it tells us exactly which one you mean. A comment on the channel works too if you would rather; name the page and the sentence or question. It will be checked against the specification and the sources and fixed. The whole site rebuilds as one piece, so a correction lands everywhere at once, including the workbooks and the card packs.
Is there a physics version?
Yes: InkPhysics covers A-level physics in the same style, with the same revision tools and a full guide to every required practical.
