What each paper asks
H640/01
Pure Mathematics and Mechanics. Pure mathematics and mechanics. Section A carries 20 to 25 marks of shorter questions and Section B the rest; 41 to 47 of the 100 marks are for mechanics, and a mechanics question may appear in either section.
H640/02
Pure Mathematics and Statistics. Pure mathematics and statistics. Section A carries 20 to 25 marks and Section B the rest; 50 to 60 of the 100 marks are for statistics, some of them on the pre-release data set.
H640/03
Pure Mathematics and Comprehension. Section A is 60 marks on the pure mathematics content. Section B is 15 marks on a previously unseen comprehension passage, itself based on the pure content rather than on mechanics or statistics.

No summer series was sat in 2020 and 2021. The examinations for those years were held in November 2020 and November 2021 instead, so two years look missing from the list above and neither is.
