One day at a time

Set your minutes and study days under Your plan, below the day. Each study day is built from your course: topics to read, the cards that are due, and questions sized to the time left over.

Every answer counts as soon as you give it, so stopping early loses nothing. The day is marked done when you reach the end.

Why these ones

Each card comes back after a gap set by your last answer. The better the answer, the longer the gap, from a day up to about three months. A miss comes back soon: the gap drops to about a fifth. Hard keeps the gap it had.

Questions come back by topic, up to about six months apart. A topic that is due gives you one question: often one you have not tried, sometimes a quick check of one you got right before. Due items come first, the ones you are most likely to have forgotten first, and answers on the flashcard and question pages count too.

Once you have been through it

Until you have read every topic on your course, you read them in course order. After that, Today brings back your weakest topics from the checklist: unrated topics first, then the lowest ratings.

An unrated topic comes back before one you rated shaky.

In the run-up to a paper

Enter your exam dates under Your plan, mocks as well as real papers, with the units each one covers. Within the last three weeks Today puts that paper's units first in the reading, the cards and the questions it picks.

A day long enough for more than one topic allows one topic fewer, but a day always keeps at least one.

Rest days

On a day that is not one of your study days, Today shows a rest day. Study anyway builds a day as usual.
